pvrPeople will miss video stores when they're gone, says the co-owner of Edmonton's latest movie-rental business to close its doors.Since 1982, Sneak Preview has billed itself as Edmonton's independent movie library, a go-to place for hard-to-find British TV, cult, foreign and classic cinema run by film buffs for fellow cinephiles."We prided ourselves on being able to send you off with a great movie you didn't know about," co-owner Sandy Muldrew says. But love and knowledge of film appear to be no match for changing technology and habits in the marketplace, so Sneak Preview is selling off its inventory and shutting down on July 20.

I haven't made a profit in a year and a half," Muldrew says.It was a labour of love from the beginning for the long-time Sneak Preview employee and University of Alberta film studies graduate who bought the shop from its founder in 2002 with his business partner and friend Trevor Smith. The store, which Muldrew calls the oldest in the city, still attracts a loyal following of film fanatics, but it's a long way from its bustling heyday in the pre-Internet era.
