aieee counselling

aieee counselling MANGALORE: Making the initial fee payment for students appearing for AIEEE online counselling and admission this year can be done with just a click of a mouse. Nearly 4-lakh odd eligible students are expected to vie for the 35,123 seats on offer in 71 institutions this year. Giving students the option of e-payment for first time in the history of AIEEE online counselling, is National Institute of Technology-Karnataka, which heads the Central Counselling Board AIEEE-2011. In previous years, students had to compulsorily purchase two DDs amounting to Rs 35,000, with one DD for Rs 34,000 and Rs 1,000.

In case, a student withdrew from the counselling process, a sum of Rs 1,000 was retained as processing fee and the rest refunded. The CCB in the previous years also experienced problems in realizing the DD presented to them by students in certain cases, making NIT-K to come up with the alternative of e-payment this year. Options given to students this year entail paying through debit/credit card, e-challan or DD. While the slightly more affluent students are expected to use the debit/credit card option which provides convenience of making payment from their homes, those opting for e-challan should take copy of the challan in triplicate and make payment of Rs 35,000 or Rs 25,000 as the case may be, at the nearest branch of either ICICI Bank or Corporation Bank.
