We put the match through a couple torture tests pushing the most extreme climates of gale force winds, monsoon rain storms and the complete abscence of oxygen. Even burying the match in muddy water was not enough to stop the sulfur from burning. These matches are an excellent addition to any survival situation or backpacking trip when the need for fire is priority one. Although somewhat expensive compared to regular matches, the peace of mind they bring is an invaluable asset. Furthermore, the money saved when you don’t have to buy a water proof storage container more than compensates the price. They are about 6 bucks at any REI store.
