Npcche Victory's six children, Rebecca (11), Joel (9), Jordan (8), Abigail (6), Charity (4) and Rachel (3) agreed with their mother, giving shrieks of delight as they slid in stocking feet across the polished wooden floors of the home. According to Travis Victory, the three bedroom, two bath home will be set on a walk-out basement when it is moved to its permanent location near Stapleton in the next month or so. "When it's all said and done, we'll have a 3,400 square-foot home for about $55 a square foot," he said. "You just can't beat that." Since 1971, students and faculty in the building and construction programs at NPCC have built a top-quality, three-bedroom house as part of the "hands-on" aspect of their training. The homes are sold each spring by sealed bid. The Victory's winning bid of $98,007 bought them the home that they could only dream about in years past. "We really wanted to bid on the home last year, but we had to sell the house we were in first," said Angie Victory. "It did sell and we've been renting for a year now. We are very ready to get settled in and enjoy all the room we'll have."
