shahid kapoor Kim Sharma is his best friend. He meets Neha (Kareena Kapoor) and falls in love with her. She rejects him in the beginning and he contemplates suicide. Later they fall in love. Fate has a different scheme of events planned for them.It turns out Kareena Kapoor is a thief who resorts to identity thefts online and Shahid decides to take the entire blame for the sake of their love. However in the end, he finds that he was being used all the time and Kareena was in a relationship with Fardeen. Shahid escapes from the jail to take revenge and is pursued by Babu.
Anna, a don who thinks Shahid has stolen his money, and the police. Meanwhile in a freak incident, everybody presumes that Shahid is dead. However he is very much alive and follows Kareena and Fardeen to take revenge. Finally in a brief exchange, Shahid and Kareena are killed and Fardeen turns himself in.The movie did average business in the box office. However, Shahid received very good reviews from the critics and the audience. Shahid’s role in the movie was well received and appreciated. Many critics said that Shahid was a promising star after his performance in the movie. However, while the movie helped Kareena Kapoor climb up the ladder to stardom, it didn’t do much for Shahid, who had a hard time surviving in the industry till his later comeback.
